The Out and About Club is organised and supported by St Peter's Church. A recent trip to Woodbridge and a River Deben cruise shows a fully booked outing enjoyed by 50 members of the community. There is no membership fee and any member of the community able to navigate the steps into the coach, is welcome sign up for details and book a place on any of the five outings a year that are organised. In the event of any trip being oversubscribed, priority is given to offering opportunities to get 'out and about' to those who may have no other means to do so - i.e. they have some difficulty walking, or have no transport of their own, or have other needs. Therefore places are given to those in the greatest need of this service, rather than the order in which the bookings are received. A risk assessment is carried out by the organisers and a full description of the outing is, as far as possible, given in the details so that members can make their own decision as to whether they are able to navigate the steps into the coach and cope with any walking etc involved at the venue.
